Preparation for a new year

Preparation for a new year

Acts 4:36-37 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement or Son of consolation), sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.

The year 2016 is coming to an end. We have to prepare ourselves for the coming year. God wants us to have a transformation in our hearts. Before we prepare ourselves for the next year, we cannot skip thanking Him for all the amazing ways He has carried us through the last one year.

Acts 12:25 When Barnabas and Saul had finished their mission, they returned from Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark.

This man Barnabas who was called by the Lord, was from a Levite back ground. His name means ‘Son of Consolation’. He had strong financial background, because he was from Cyprus. Cyprus was a city known for business and prosperity.

Acts 13:2 While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them”.

Barnabas was not satisfied with what he did accomplish so far, but humbled himself to the calling of the Holy Spirit.  Change your heart; don’t be satisfied with what you have accomplished in the years past. It is fulfilled. You never lacked anything, In the midst of recession, sickness and problems around the world, God made it a perfect year for you.

The year 2016 was a beautiful, blessed and glorious year for us. Gods grace was with us and our families. God has taken us through so marvellously.

Acts 13:7 The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.

Let the first step for next year be to humble yourself to the Holy Spirit and rest assured that the Lord will take you to the authorities so that you will speak the word of God. Let people desire to hear the word of God through you. When you speak the word of God; God will change their hearts.

Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.

God is going to use you in the year 2017. He is going to separate you for the Glory of God. You might be feeling that my ministry is finished; until He assures that it is definitely not finished.

God has chosen us; sanctify yourselves for the Holy Spirit. In the year 2017, God is going to bless you. Make a satisfied beginning; by thanking the Lord for what He has done in the past years.

Separate yourself to the Holy Spirit, before preparing for the new year. Authorities will come to you, to hear the word of God. Amen.
