Isaiah 49:16 – See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.
KJV– Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me).
The greatest calamity in the life of a believer is being forgotten by the Creator. But the word of God assures us with a number of promises to be of good courage. Yet, when our prayers are not answered or when we expect something and it does not happen, we naturally come to the conclusion that God has forgotten us. The thought that GOD is mindful of me, revives my spirit.
Psalm 119:25 – My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your word.
God has not forgotten you nor are you without identity.
You are engraved in the palm of God. You are not just written, but engraved in the palm of God. Before you were formed in your mother’s womb you were engraved in the palm of God. It doesn’t fade, it cannot be changed, and it cannot be altered or deleted. It is an amazing fact that you are engraved in the palm of Jesus.
A Christian understands his unworthiness before the awesome God.
Abraham speaks about it –
Genesis 18:27 – Then Abraham answered and said, “Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord.
When David meditates about God’s wonderful creations, he feels so small before God
Psalm 8:4 – What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him.
A Christian remembers transgressions of his youth –
Psalm 25:7 – Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.
Psalm 32:5 – I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.
All these verses might prod us to think that God has the possibility of forgetting him. Zion doubts the faithfulness of God.
Your complete profile is in God’s hands.
Your life, your Time, your Ways… everything about you is in His hands.
Psalm 139:13 – For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
Psalm 139:16 – Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.
Psalm 31:15 – My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me.
You are always present with Him in His Hands. Wherever He goes, you are going with Him. You are in His Finger Tips; you are always in His memory. He carries your photo in His Palms wherever He goes.
Matthew 28:20 – I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Your particulars are permanent in His Palms. Even before your birth, God foreknew you. Even before the creation of the worlds you were elected by Grace to be inscribed in His Palms. And you will remain there as long as God lives, from eternal past to eternal future.
Romans 8:30 – Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
1 Peter 1:2 – elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
It is a painful thing for God to engrave you in His Palms. A child of God is engraved on the palm of God at the Cross of Calvary by nailing the hands of the Redeemer to the cross. Jesus remembers every pain He suffered at Calvary when He looks at His palms. Christ has paid a heavy price to inscribe you on His palms. He will never forget you.
Isaiah 53:4, 5 – Surely He has borne our griefs. And carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
It is a personal thing to God. If you are in palms then you are one with His body. The Bible says that Christ is the Groom and His Bride is the Church. Paul says in Epistle to Ephesians that Christ is the Head of the Church and we are His body.
Revelation 19:7-9 – Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” (Also Revelation 21:9, Ephesians 5:23, 24).
Lord is powerful enough to bless you, let us surrender ourselves to the Lord. He will not forget you. You are always with Him and He is always with you. Amen.
