Vision and the Word of God

Vision and the Word of God

Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

In Old Testament days, vision was given to show something that is going to happen. Today in New Testament period, vision is something practical and naked to our eyes.

Visions are an important subject to every believer; you have to take it in a right way with a right attitude. You have to keep the law; vision starts with the word of God.

Genesis 28:10-15 – Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.  Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”

Vision should be compared with the word of God. As believers in these last days, we should not wander from the word of God. Take every vision in the right sense. If you see a vision, look at it through the word of God. Then you will see it before it happens, you will see when it is happening and after it happens.

Genesis 21:14-20 – So Abraham rose early in the morning, and took bread and a skin of water; and putting it on her shoulder, he gave it and the boy to Hagar, and sent her away. Then she departed and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba. And the water in the skin was used up, and she placed the boy under one of the shrubs. Then she went and sat down across from him at a distance of about a bowshot; for she said to herself, “Let me not see the death of the boy.” So she sat opposite him, and lifted her voice and wept. And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad and hold him with your hand, for I will make him a great nation.” Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink. So God was with the lad; and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.

Beersheba means a well of oath or well of seven fold. Hagar wept saying, “Let me not see the death of the boy”. God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. As believers we stand in Beersheba and say there is no blessing. Read the word of God and God will give you the vision; God will help you to see the blessing. To see the well or to see the blessing in your life, you need to have the word of God. The Lord has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Luke 5:4-7 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”  But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

Jesus said, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch”, but Peter said, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” Jesus asked them to let down the nets and Peter said I will led down a net.

Peter had a sudden difference in his vision. After toiling the whole night they didn’t see a fish, but in seconds at Jesus’ word they a saw great number of fish, and their net was breaking and they filled it in two boats. You need to accept Jesus’ words to see the blessing and receive it.

Jesus wants you to stand on the word of God. Victory begins from the Word of God. Test and check every vision with the Word of God. Vision always comes from the word of God; it begins from the word of God and ends with the word of God. Stay in the vision and stick to the word of God. Amen.
