Halak

Halak

Expectations is something that’s been growing so strong in every area of our life as a human being. It is like butterflies in the stomach always. I want to take you through the perceptive of our Lord Jesus to understand the essence what our Lord Jesus Christ had in His mind.

Among the ten Parables Jesus spoke about The Kingdom of heaven, let us pick one of them to explore some startling steps to help us be focused as a true child of God.

Mathew 20:1-16 is a portion of great interest when we get into its minute details.

It is about a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. He agreed on the pay with the laborers as a penny. He goes out at the third, sixth, ninth and eleventh hour and finds more laborers for the vineyard. The verb used for ‘Go’ in the Hebrew is very interesting. It is ‘halak’ which means Go,motion, Walk, Come.

So what our Lord Jesus expects is we as laborers in the Kingdom of God, need to be on the run. A motion which can change our life. That is why Jesus when he looked at the women with adultery said “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John.8:11

In His commission to all of us in Mathew.28:19, Jesus said “Go Ye and make disciple.”

The expectations of our Lord Jesus at any given time we are to buckle up to Go and keep going till the last breath or till the coming of Lord Jesus Christ.

Please don’t murmur or grumble as Paul says to the Philippians. 2:14 but “Do all things without murmurings and disputing”. Some of the laborers found themselves in that situation.

We complain a lot. What is done so far is done but we grow tired to continue working ending with disappointments with wrong expectations. Are we ready to pray as the psalmist said in Psalms 143:8 “Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul”

As per the words of Jesus, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Mathew.20:13. Also Jesus revealed we should not be envious of His generosity which He showed towards those who labored only briefly.

Friends lets be reminded that in this search to unbiased Jesus we need to know God is the one before whom all accounts will be settled. Many who often find themselves at the end of the line will be found themselves promoted to the head of the line. The last will be first and the first will be last as the parable ends in Mathew.20:16. Lets be among the chosen ones of Jesus’ expectations. Let’s walk His way and Go where He sends us in the vineyard of God.
Amen
