Matthew 2:10, 11– When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh
Worship can bring a big difference in our lives. The way we worship God and praise Him is very important.
What it means to worship? Worship is not a performance. Worship is individual; it is something that should come from inside of us. The true worship comes from our heart. The true worship is worshipping God in Spirit and Truth. Worship means expression of love. Worship is a daily routine; Worship should be an every minute event; Worship is continuous for as long as we have life. Whenever we gather together, we should worship.
Isaiah 43:21 – This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.
Worship is proclaiming the name of the Lord and praising the name of the Lord. We are found by Jesus and God has counted on us so that we will worship the name of the Lord.
Leviticus 5:14-16 – Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “If a person commits a trespass, and sins unintentionally in regard to the holy things of the Lord, then he shall bring to the Lord as his trespass offering a ram without blemish from the flocks, with your valuation in shekels of silver according to the shekel of the sanctuary, as a trespass offering. And he shall make restitution for the harm that he has done in regard to the holy thing, and shall add one-fifth to it and give it to the priest. So the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and it shall be forgiven him.
In the Old Testament time, people used to bring sacrifices for all the trespasses they have done. But now our are sins are washed by the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit enables us to worship.
Isaiah 6:3 – And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!”
We know that the angels always worship the Lord in heaven. True worship should bring the attention of Heaven to the place where you are worshipping. The angels should look at you. This can happen only when we worship in the spirit and truth. If you want to see a revival, you need to worship. God wants you to worship.
Amos 5:23, 24 – Take away from Me the noise of your songs, For I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments. But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream.
We should worship in oneness; let us get involved in the worship. Worship is to bring the attention of Heaven in our personal life. Let us all sing to the glory of God.
1 Samuel 16:23 – And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.
When we worship, the evil spirits will flee. The person next to you will be delivered, revived and blessed.
Acts 2:11 – Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the Wonderful works of God.
The apostles, when they worshipped, were witness to different kind of people. The worship we do should make people see that God is dwelling in us. If we worship in truth, it will bring a revolution in our life. Our worship can bring a change in our generation. We should have His praises in our mouth continuously.
Mark 7:6, 7 – He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honours Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men
Let us honour God from our hearts. Let our worship come from our heart and not from our lips. Your worship should bring praises to the name of the Lord and evil spirits should flee. Your heart is important in worship. Let us bring the attention of Heaven in our midst by worshipping. Let our worship be controlled by the Holy Spirit, powered by Jesus Christ, bringing Glory to God. Amen.
