His love = Your identity

In our Christian life, sometimes we lose the spiritual quality, we lack something, and we get into a state of spiritual dryness. We were very strong spiritually when we first accepted Christ; but we are not the same now. Everybody goes through this experience at some point in their life. It may be the way we worship or our prayer life or reading the word of God or going to the Church, in some part of our life, we get into a spiritual dryness.
What the Bible say about this? How can we come back to our old level? As a child of God what should our identity be? As a child of God what should we follow?
John 21:20 – Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?”
Mark 3:17 – James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom He gave the name Boanerges, that is, “Sons of Thunder”.
John 19:26 – When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!”
Whatever is your family background, whatever is your community status, you should be called and identified as a person or a disciple whom Jesus loved and a person who loves Jesus back.
John wrote the gospel in his very old age, but he didn’t want to be called or identified as the person who took care of Jesus’ mother or to be identified with his family background or as the person who wrote the five books of the bible, but he wanted to be called as the person whom Jesus loved.
Whatever is your family back ground or whichever place you are hailing from; the greatest identity is that you are known as a person loved by Jesus. And you are known as a person who loves Jesus.
John 13: 21 – 24 – When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” Then the disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom He spoke. Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke.
Are we leaning on Jesus’ bosom as John did? If we love Jesus back as John did; we will have the secrets of God revealed to us. John had the privilege to reveal the secrets of God.
Joseph was faithful and loved God and secrets of God were revealed to him even in the Jail. If you love Jesus, the secrets of God will be revealed to you with regard to your personal life or situation, secrets or revelation for the Church or even revelations for the world will be revealed to you.
Let your identity be as the person whom Jesus loved and the person who loved Jesus. Then God will reveal to you the greatest secrets of the book of Revelation. Make the decision today you will be a different person. All the disciples could not lean on Jesus’ bosom, but John was confident of Gods’ love. Gods’ love got printed in John’s mind.
Psalm 25:14 – The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.
Daniel understood the secrets of God; because he loved and feared Him. Are you ready for such an anointing in your life? God wants you to have this identity in your life as the person whom Jesus loves and the person who loves Jesus. All through your life, God will reveal His secrets and ways to you. Amen.
