Challenging Times

Dear Beloved in Christ, we are in the midst of a pandemic which is taking toil over lives across the globe. I was reminded about this verse in 1Thessalonians 1:6 “having received the Word in much affliction, with Joy of The Holy Ghost.”

Believers in Thessalonica experienced affliction because of their faith (Acts.17:1-9), but Paul instructed them to serve God with gladness. The world does not see how joy and tribulation can possibly go together, but throughout the Bible we see the two of them paired. A life of faith may entail adversity, but through it also, we gain a deeper relationship with the Lord.

It’s a time we need to realize that life matters and to respect the purpose of God in creating us for placing us in this earth as human beings. The attacks over mankind need to be addressed with the wisdom of God. We, as believers of Jesus Christ, are always more vulnerable because we have an enemy who doesn’t want us to abide in faith with our Lord.

The challenge we have is to Know our Priority in Life, because The Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but Righteousness, Peace and Joy IN THE HOLY SPIRIT (Romans 14:17).

Let us ponder bit deeper into this truth:

#Kingdom of God- which is the sphere of salvation where God rules in the hearts of those He has saved.

#eating and drinking- Non essentials and external observances of materialism.

#Righteousness- Holy, obedient life to the Lord.

#Peace- the loving tranquility produced by the Spirit that should characterize a believer’s relationships with God and with each other.

#JOY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT – Another part of the Spirit’s fruit, which describes an abiding attitude of praise and thanksgiving regardless of circumstances in which flows one’s confidence in God’s sovereignty.

Let Us move with the Joy of The Holy Spirit in the midst of these trying times and experience the Comforter leading us in this complete truth.

Stay blessed,

Pastor Suresh Abraham.
